'UGLY' Show - & - Tell

Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful is here to show off
a little bit of  'UGLY' in her home.
Let's get this show on the road!

Hidey ho, neighbors!
It's Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful here to dish on the UGLIES that can be found in my home.
There are *uglies* in my home???
You betcha.
Feast your eyes on these lovelies:
There are *six* of these bad boys. Totally awesome.
They are hand-me-downs from my parents and they are probably at least 15 years old...missing bars from the bottoms, scratches, stains, name it! And with two little ones around, you can bet they are getting more and more appealing every day.
Can you hear the sarcasm there?
And even if they weren't old and banged up...then there would be that lovely fabric on them.
At least it hides the food stains well, right? RIGHT????
If I could replace those fuglies with something else right this minute, it would be a really great chair with some interesting detailing for the backs and a fabulous fabric for my tushie to rest on.
Maybe something a little like these:
So much fabulousness, so little time (c:
I'm pretty sure those first ones are my favesies...the detailing is just insane and so gorgeous...just add some fabulously fun fabric on the cushion and I would be one happy camper!
Thanks for letting me dish on one of the ugliest things in my house, Melissa!
Wait a second...does that sound wrong to anyone else??? I might have just gotten tricked (c:

Ooh!  I think my favorite chair was the white one with the diamond-like back.  All of them are fabulous though, that Aubrey has great taste and a great sense of humor -  you can just hear it coming through in her words - I love it!  Make sure you go say hello at  All Things Bright & Beautiful!

Charming Chair + Coordinates

This chair is on sale for $299.  Wouldn't it be a cute accent chair to brighten up a space?

Liliana Floral Chair

I love the colors of this chair.  I think these fabrics would go nicely in the same room as pillows or window treatments.

Parade of Decorative Boxes

Decorative boxes are often times one of the key elements in accessorizing a table/shelf/bookcase.  Not only do they look great, but they can also hide random stuff on the inside :)

Guest Post : A Corner of My Room

Hi! I'm Trissta of Living on the Chic. I'm so excited about sharing a corner of  my master bedroom with you today!  My goal at Living on the Chic, is to decorate my home with as little money as possible. If you check out my space, you can see my living room, dining area, my guest room (which just got moved to a smaller room), and many of my other projects! I'm so excited to share my latest with you.

I picked up this chair years ago and reupholstered it in this great damask material... Love it still! The ottoman was picked up a thrift shop for $6.  I added a Brom poster on the wall and a small magazine rack (that I picked up at Salvation Army for $.50) to hold my reading material... On top, I have a small desk lamp with another giant clam shell as a catch-all. The drift wood I picked up as a souvenir from my trip to Caples Lake, California.

Check out my blog soon to see more pictures! Thank you so much, Melissa for letting me share a 'corner of my room!'

Thanks for stopping in, Trissta!
Make sure you go check out Living on the Chic!

Design Board

Here is a design board I recently put together.  This one is actually not for anyone.  I just ran across the cocktail table and just began gathering items to create a room design - sometimes it's just fun to dream :)  My husband wasn't so sure about the drift wood end table (it's okay, his opinion doesn't count really - just kidding.)  I love the combination of rustic elements with a little bit of 'bling' from the accessories and the mirrored end table.

Friday Finds

Etsy never ceases to amaze me.

Periodically, I like to just browse different shops.  Here are few products that I thought were great!  To go to the shop of each item pictured just click 'source' under the photo.

Wicker Allover Stencil for Wall Decor and More

I thought this shop was pretty cool.  You can buy the jpeg file of their images for $1.00 and then put the image on whatever you like - pillow, towel, bag, etc.

I know, I put a random collection of items's been just a random sort of day:)

Is there an etsy shop that you love?

'UGLY' Show - & - Tell

Good morning everyone!  I have invited a couple more bloggers to showcase the 'UGLY' in their homes.  We all have a little bit of ugly in our homes (if YOU don't - the rest of us are jealous!) and sometimes it's nice to see that we are all in the same boat just trying to work with what we have!  But of course, this wouldn't be a design blog if we didn't showcase what we would love to replace the 'UGLY' with!

Today, Amber is visiting from Simple Dwellings, along with Marissa from ROOST!

Hello ROOMS readers! My name is Amber from Simple Dwellings, and I am so excited to be here at Melissa's blog today sharing a piece of furniture we have had forever! My husband and I have been blissfully married for nine years. We have a few furniture pieces from his bachelor days that I have been determined to get rid of transform! One of those pieces is a green recliner that has seen better days. When we first got married, I knew I wanted to make it look more like a wing chair and cover the green fabric. Since the recliner part of the chair was on its last legs, we knew that adding a simple white slipcover would look better and keep the chair in one piece! Here is the chair at its current state:

The last image gives you a peek at the green fabric! Although I want to replace this piece, I am a bit nostalgic... it was one of the first furniture pieces in our family room. I even remember when it was our only seating in that room! Having said that, there is also nothing wrong with finding another chair that would suit us both. So here are some ideas for its replacement:

I love the look of these chairs paired with an ottoman! The ottoman is so versatile and can easily be moved to other seating areas in the room. We could go masculine chic with a leather club chair, coastal chic with a modern wing back style or french inspired with a more traditional bergere chair. The choices are limitless! We'll live with the slipcovered recliner for now, but a change is sure to come! Maybe for the 10th anniversary- that's my plan, anyway! Some girls love jewelry... I love furniture!
Thank you so much Melissa, for having me on your blog today! It was fun to think about furniture changes for the future!

And now, Marissa from ROOST to showcase her 'UGLY'...

The worst piece of furniture in my house is probably my sad little
IKEA dining table. I bought it to fit in our teeny little dining room
and it is so small you can hardly call it a table, it's more like a
desk. My husband and I are both tall, so we look pretty funny sitting
at our little kid table.

Beside being small, the table is also unfinished wood. On the bright
side, I do all my craft projects here without worrying about hurting
the finish!

I am pretty excited to upgrade to life-sized dining furniture when my
husband finishes graduate school and we move in just a few months. I
would be open to replacing it with pretty much anything, but here are
my favorites:

I am grateful to even have a dining table, period. But I can't wait to
have a big, pretty one!

Ladies, thank you for showing off the 'UGLIES' in your home!

Make sure you visit Amber and Marissa's blogs!
